He settled in Bon Temps and used his borrowed money to open up Merlotte's Bar and Grill. Sam now runs Merlotte's and employs local residents like Sookie Stackhouse, Lafayette Reynolds and more.

Sam sat up in his bed and rubbed his head. He could recall the previous night so clearly. It had been a full moon and he had given into the shift. He sighed as he arose from his bed and grabbed his pants, he was slightly surprised that he even remembered where he placed his pants. He looked at the clock that was positioned on his night stand and realized that it was time for him to go open the bar. He grabbed a cup full of coffee and made his way over. As he arrived her smiled to everyone that was there and working. 'Morning all." He spoke in a tired voice as he switched the sign on the front door from 'Closed' to 'Open' "It's going to be a wonderful day, let's try and not yell at customers today." He said to all of them as he looked at Tara. He knew that she was known for having a bad temper and the reason hald his customers intended to walk out. "I'll be in my office" Sam said as he made his way back to his office.
His Office was where he intended to spend most of his time in Merlotte's when he wasn't out helping pour drinks at the bar. He sat his cup on hsi desk and sat down in his chair as he let out another sigh. He could tell that today was going to be a difficult day, and he wasn't sure if he could handle much more. He grabbed his cup again and made his way back out to the bar. He figured that maybe if he spent less time in his office the day might not be as bad. [/center]
