The night just drags on (open)

Jason's alarm had just went off, he rolled over and hit the snooze button going back to sleep. After about twenty minutes the alarm went off again, this time it was louder the before causing Jason to fling the blanket off his head and quickly jump to his feet. He grabbed the clock off the dresser and threw it at the wall causing it to shatter on the floor below his bedroom door. He shook his head and walked into the bathroom. He stood in front of the mirror for a while before fixing his hair 'Maybe a long night out with friends wasn't such a good idea' he thought to himself as he washed his face. When he was done he used the bathroom then walked out to the living room turning on the television.

Jason sighed and threw the remote onto the chair when he saw there was another VLA debate on. He shook his head and walked to the kitchen. He opened the fridge and stood there staring for a while before grabbing out the Pizza box. He didn't even bothering heating it up he just sat it on the counter and began eating. When he was done he left the box on the counter and went back to his room to get dressed. He walked over to the dresser and grabbed out a black tank top and a regular pair of blue jeans. He laid the shirt on his bed and slipped the jeans on then he grabbed his shirt and slipped it on as he made his way back to the bathroom.

He opened the medicine cabinet and grabbed out his toothbrush and toothpaste. He began to brush his teeth then looked in the mirror "You're a sexy man Stackhouse" He said to himself as he pointed the toothbrush at the mirror. He finished brushing his teeth then walked out of the bathroom. He grabbed his jacket off the chair and put it on as he walked out locking the door behind him. He jumped in his truck and made his way to work.


Jason had a few interesting conversations at work but now he didn't want to think about them he just wanted to relax. He got back in his truck and began to drive. He was almost home when he decided to go to Merlotte's. He pulled in to the parking lot and sat in the truck for a few minutes. He grabbed the deodorant from the glove box and spayed himself to get rid of his awful stench, he fixed his hair in the mirror before stepping out. He walked in and looked around before walking over to the bar and taking a seat.

Miso wasn't at the bar, but she was at a booth huddled in the furthest corner of the restaurant. She had been coming there every night after work to try and get a handle on the people of Bon Temps. The more she knew, the easier it would be for her to know who to stay away from. She learned all of what she needed to know because of her gift of telepathy, people couldn't hide who or what they really were - not from her.

The waitresses had been getting use to her by now, she was always the quiet one that would slip into the corner booth and order a sweet tea with a salad and dressing on the side. They liked that she was quiet, and that she tipped well, but no one had really made an effort to get to know her. Miso couldn't really blame them - after all, who would bother to talk to a little mousey girl anyway?

It had been the first time she had seen Jason Stackhouse in the bar. He had seemed.. different to her, and he had caught her attention the moment he walked in. She glanced at him as her sweet tea was put in front of her, and calmly she took the straw into her mouth and watched him for a moment. Just who was he? She had to admit, he was good looking, but there was something else about him she couldn't quite put her finger on.

He held a small conversation with Sam and Tara along with a few of the regulars that would attend Merlotte's on a daily basis, they would laugh and tell stories of what happened at work or who was talking to who in town. This was a very small town and it never took long for news to get around but usually Jason was the last one to know about anything, this was most likely because he could barely keep a secret.

He had a conversation with his sister before he looked over and noticed the girl in the corner booth alone and silent, not many people ate alone at Merlotte's. He noticed she had been looking at him so he flashed her a soft smile, he then turned to Sam and got another beer before he stood up from his seat and made his way over to the corner booth.

He stood in front of her with the same light smile on his face "Mind if I join you?" He asked her in a soft voice as he looked at her, he knew she was new in town and for some strange reason he wanted to know what she was doing here. Jason really wasn't one to nosy into a new persons business but he had a sense of familiarity towards her.

It took an effort sometimes to tune out the voices around you. Random thoughts came from all around her, people who were thinking about work or worried about home life and a few sexual thoughts going around from the younger crowds. Miso was use to those kind of thoughts, even when they were directed toward her, she just never paid them much attention.

Thoughts were easier to tune out when you focused on one person, and with her focus on Jason she had noticed him coming toward her. Miso had swallowed, hard, and returned her focus back to her drink when he had smiled toward her.

"Mind if I join you?"

She rose her head slowly, a blush creeping across her pale cheeks as she looked up from her sweet tea. His voice was soft and non-threatening, even his very presence seemed almost.. comforting. She nodded without another thought and gestured her hand toward the opposite side of the booth.

"Please"

It was hard not to read his mind, to dip into his thoughts and listen to what he was thinking because he was close to her. She had her focus on him, soft caramel hues struggled to keep eye contact to be polite but she often looked back at her sweet tea just out of habit.

"I am sorry, if it appeared I was staring at you. I just.. have been here a few nights and I haven't seen you here before. Pardon my rudeness."

She bowed her head again, her voice soft and almost angelic as she spoke - English may of been her second language, but she spoke it very well.
