She only had a few dollars, but the scents that rose from the kitchen were much too tempting to pass up. But something lingered behind the spices and barbecue that was too faint for humans to smell. Rae had never smelt this smell before and instantly became intrigued with it. She followed the red-headed hostess to her booth and ordered an ice tea. As she waited she continued to sniff the air, trying decipher what it was that somewhat smelt like death.
